About me

Hi, I’m Jules. I’ve attended cooking schools around the world but have never worked in the food business. I passed the Court of Master Sommelier Introductory exam, achieved Level 3 at the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET), and earned a certificate in viticulture and enology from Washington State University but never worked in the wine business. For the past twenty seven years I worked in a field most people hate but that set me up (I hope) for a fun retirement where I can try and figure out if there is any way I can apply all of that wonderful knowledge I acquired in the food and beverage arena. I also write about retirement because, well, that’s where I am in my life.
